Broodthaers Society of America
Racisme végétal
The artist's contribution to Interfunckionen, here transposed into a stand-alone artist's book. There were 50 signed and numbered "limited edition" copies issued, followed by the release and sale of 300 unsigned and unnumbered copies. This is Broodthaers’ most enigmatic work. How do the images relate to the captions? How do the pages relate to each other? What does their sequence accomplish? What does any of it have to do with vegetation, or racism? A very concise and beguiling rebus.
