Concert: La Lumière MBASMR
Free post-performance streaming here

Erin Gee performed a remote concert inspired by Marcel Broodthaers' La Lumière Manifeste, a new vinyl album of Broodthaers reading some of his late poetry. The recordings were unearthed and have been remastered by Raf Wollaert, a Doctoral Fellow at the University of Antwerp who researches the film and media works of Marcel Broodthaers.

Gee is a Canadian performer and composer who uses her voice in combination with sensorial technologies, likening the vibration of air passing through vocal cords to data passing through electronic systems, and vice versa. Her work in hypnosis, Autonomic Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) and Eye Movement Desensitization Remedies (EMDR) are designed to implicate the body of the listener as part of the systems involved in their reception. Fluent in both French and English, Gee used the original French versions of Marcel Broodthaers' poems as the basis for her multimedia song book, aided by English subtitles, the tools and gestures of ASMR, and the inherent immersion and drift of the internet.
